Cookie Policy

WHAT ARE COOKIES?

Cookies are small text files sent directly to the user’s terminal (usually, the browser), where they are stored to be then sent back to the site of origin the next time the same user visits it. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from the user’s disk, nor can it transmit computer viruses or acquire email addresses. Each cookie is unique to the user’s browser. Some of the functions of cookies can be delegated to other technologies. In this document, the term ‘cookie’ refers to both cookies themselves and all similar technologies.
Cookies can be used to record information about your preferences, such as pages browsed or downloading of files from our site or other similar actions carried out while browsing our site.

FIRST OR THIRD PARTY COOKIES

We use first party and third party cookies; “first party” cookies are developed by the Site Owner, while “third party” cookies are developed by Third Parties other than the Site Owner.

NATURE OF COOKIES

There are several types of cookies:

TECHNICAL COOKIES

Technical cookies are used for the sole purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network, or as is strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service to provide a service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user.
They are not used for any other purpose and are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be subdivided into:
session cookies, that are used for normal site navigation and usage ( for instance, they make it possible to purchase something or log in to restricted site areas); they are actually necessary in order for the site to operate properly;
analytics cookies, that are considered as technical cookies when they are used directly by the site manager to collect information in aggregated form, on the number of users and their site browsing habits, in order to improve the site performance;
functionality cookies, that allow users to browse on the basis of a set of selected criteria (for instance, language, products selected for purchase(, in order to improve customer service. The installation of these types of cookies does not require any prior consent from the users (read more about this in the Cookies Management section below).

PROFILING COOKIES

Profiling cookies are meant to create user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user while browsing the internet.
Profiling cookies require prior user consent. According to provision no. 229 of 8 May 2014, the user must be able to authorise or refuse consent to the installation of profiling cookies, if any are present.
In the case of third-party cookies, the site does not directly control the individual cookies and therefore cannot either install them directly or cancel them. The site can however manage these cookies through the browser’s settings (just follow the instructions below) or through the sites mentioned in the “Cookies Management” section.

We therefore suggest that users check this in the third-party website mentioned below.
